–Dust in unusual places: As part of your spring cleaning routine, dust in some new places that you may not have thought of before. Clean dirt out of interior and exterior light globes and clear away dust from the light bulbs themselves: this way, your fixtures will not have to work as hard to produce light. While you’re dusting around lighting areas, replace burned out incandescent bulbs with long-lasting, highly efficient compact fluorescent ones. Clean around the bottom of your refrigerator, clear the air intake vent, and get the dust bunnies off the exposed coils on the back too.
